I love a man in Mishka.

I peeped this video on Hypebeast earlier today while in class (oops). When I was living in NYC it was the it brand. Founded by Mikhail Borin and Greg Mishka in 2003, it has blossomed into one of the premiere street labels in the world. They’re styles were a big hit on the show “How to Make it in America” on HBO.  I’m a vintagehead but I can appreciate  a good urban streetwear line. It shows how designers respond to the people they see from their windows. 

It also shows how far hip hop culture has come. Everyone is this video represents a diverse range of people from women to white boys. And the girl with the green braids is tooo sick

Baz Luhmann’s Romeo + Juliet was one of the most beautiful movies from the 90s. I know I’m killing you guys with 90s flashbacks but Netflix Instant Play is always bringing up my old favorites lol.

1. Leo DiCaprio at his sexiest. I hope guys start wearing Hawaiian shirts and skinnies this summer. If so, I’ll be clocking

2. The fabulous Mercutio. When I first read R+J, my teacher hinted that Mercutio was actually gay and in love with Romeo. If you’ve seen the “Young Hearts, Run Free” part of this movie, you know what I’m talking about lol

3. The soundtrack. I still bump his soundtrack to this day. it has everything from Garbage to Radiohead to The Cardigans.

4. John Leguizamo. Idk why, but I am in love with this man. Him as a retro Mexican villian with a slick-back and tight dress pants was everything

5. Jamie Kennedy and his pink hair. Nuff said

7. Claire “Plain Jane” Danes as the Bait. When I was younger, I never thought that Claire Danes was anything special in this movie. I thought for most of it, honestly, she looked like a boy. More specifically, one of the Hanson brothers. But looking back now I see that a lot of these 90s hotties fit into that grungy, heroin-chic, waify street-urchin look.

Idk how me and my friend stumbled upon this video but its hilarious. 

Racism is actually hilarious if you really think about so why not fight racism with humor. Right?

Last weekend, my friends Ally and Lem came over. They were looking extra good so I took their pictures lol.

Ally has the Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s I should’ve gotten. The ones I have are this paisley-carpet-tapestry print. It’s kinda hard to find stuff to go with it.

…and then there’s Lem, my 6 ft tall dream with a cranberry wig lol. Lem singlehandedly brought the wig back to Richmond and even inspired me to get my own lol. And I helped him get those heeled boots from Urban Outfitters earlier that day

Released in the  early 90s as an accompaniment to her album Erotica, the book features her and numerous celebrities involved in some pretty extreme sexual circumstances lol. Not to mention Madonna parading around nude with vintage 60s hair and make up.

Say what you want about Madonna and her crazy evolutions, but I think this book is dope. So many female artists use their sexuality but not too many are about their sexuality. And while its raunchy, the fashion photography is beautifully done.

Years ago, Manet drew a prostitute eating lunch with two men in the grass….

…and now we call it Art.

So what the hell. I approve!
